On October 5, 2026, the following changes will be made to the Kanban freee accounting data integration: This new integration will be applicable to the updated data.
For refunds that include shipping costs, we will ensure that the shipping costs are also recorded under the same account item and tax category as the shipping costs.
Orders that combine Shopify Payments with gift cards and other methods of payment will record the payment from Shopify Payments in the paid mode and the remaining balance of other payments in the regular mode, preventing duplicate sales and any remaining payment discrepancies. Failed or canceled payments will also be reflected in the determination.
We have revised the duplicate candidate confirmation screen to exclude duplicate candidates when both modes are recording their respective payments. We have also unified the handling of settings that do not record shipping costs and those that are not saved. We also maintain the previous behavior of the payment integration settings.
The amount of consumption tax charged for some refunds will change.
When calculating the difference between the amount refunded and the amount entered manually, such as partial refunds, the consumption tax amount is recorded according to the specified tax category. This change is not limited to the use of gift cards or the payment fee mode, and applies to all relevant new integrations across all stores.
If you refund 1,200 yen including tax in 10% tax categories, the refund amount will remain at -1,200 yen, and the amount of consumption tax will be -109 yen instead of the previous 0 yen. In non-taxable tax categories, the consumption tax amount is 0 yen.
Transactions already registered on freee will not be automatically corrected. If you need to check and adjust past discrepancies or refund tax amounts, please contact the in-app inquiry desk for assistance. We will not perform a forced re-linking in bulk; instead, we will review the affected transactions and respond individually.
If an order with expired Shopify Payments authorization still has uncancelled data, the integration may be suspended even if payment has been collected via bank transfer or other method. If this error occurs, please check the status of the authorization, the amount of payment collected, and any freee transactions registered. If you have any questions, please contact us.
